Maria was commissioned by Newcastle Gateshead Initiative to support on the visioning and bid-writing for the cities’ successful pitch to host the Great Exhibition of the North.
Maria supported the bid steering group which included representatives from Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative and the North East Cultural Partnership, to draw together the creative content of previous workshops and discussions, to explore options around creative content and theming, timing and key partners, to devise a schedule for delivery and to co-author the bid itself.
A key element of her work was to develop compelling vision and content statements, and a call out approach which could engage the wider North.
