Maria began her career with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican in 1991, entering as Marketing Assistant and leaving as Head of Marketing, completing the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma along the way.  She promoted around 85 concerts a year, with an average attendance of 86% and income of £1.5 million.

Under Clive Gillinson’s dynamic leadership, programmes featured many unforgettable performances including Pierre Boulez’ 70th Birthday celebrations and festivals of Britten, Prokofiev, Shostakovich (all with Mstislav Rostropovich), Berio and Messiaen.

Maria introduced Discovery Days with the LSO, enabling audiences to explore the music, meet the players and hear their stories.
