The contemporary and traditional Catalan programme in 2013 included:

  • Carles Santos‘ Maquinofòbia Pianolera. Brilliant piano and mechanical orchestra concerto composed and performed by Carles Santos and Cabo San Roque. UK Premiere.
  • Roger Bernat Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. A headphone-wearing audience collectively dance choreography inspired by Pina Bausch’s 1975 interpretation.
  • Ponten Pie Copacabana. Theatre and gastronomy meet and the audience participates.
  • Los Galindos Maiurta. Magical circus presented in an intimate circus tent by veteran company.
  • Castellers of Vilafranca 120-strong company, creating human castles six people tall in the Cathedral Close with Salisbury Cathedral Spire as the backdrop.
  • La Troba Kung-Fú Rumba, folk, pop, blues, an accordion-led music sensation.
  • Astrio Electrojazz rock trio.
  • Barça: Sport, Culture and Education Presentation by the Vice-President of Futbol Club Barcelona.
  • Catalan film programme included the UK premiere of the polemic film Fenix 11*23, curated by Patrick Bliss.
  • Pep Bou Rebufaplanetes. Mime artist who performs entirely with soap bubbles. Linked with an architectural workshop led by tutors from the Architectural Association and architects Cloud 9.

  • Nats Nus Dansa Momentari. Dance for a family audience, combining a powerful sense of make-believe, playful humour and sophisticated use of video.
  • Temps de Flors Girona Four major, contemporary flower installations, reflecting the distinctive style of this world-class flower festival.
  • Jordi Savall Viol recital from this pioneer of historical music.
  • Cobla St Jordi A cobla is a musical group of wind instruments indigenous to Catalonia and this particular group are exceptional, from Barcelona.
